Sheffield’s unique conference and events portfolio was putt into the spotlight with a special sporting challenge at Europe’s leading industry show.
SIV Conferencing and Events hosted a Golf Challenge to profile the city and its facilities at the Confex 2010 exhibition at Earl’s Court, London.
Delegates were challenged to putt a golf ball onto a £20 note and win an exclusive VIP package – a day with one of SIV’s golf professionals, VIP hospitality at Jason Manford’s comedy show at City Hall Sheffield and one night in the Rutland hotel.
SIV once again teamed up with Yorkshire South Tourism to profile the city’s diverse facilities at Confex - Europe’s leading exhibition for event organizers.
The award winning Tapton Park Golf Course, City Hall Sheffield and Ponds Forge Sheffield are just some of the leading venues that make up the SIV Conferencing and Events brand, which boasts one of the widest choices of event spaces in the UK.
Andy Carnall, SIV Golf Manager and Derbyshire Professional of the Year 2009, said: “The Golf Challenge was a real hit at Confex and attracted many delegates who were keen to have a go and also find out more about our venues.
“No-one managed to make the £20 note, so three players went head to head for a final challenge with the competitors putting towards a Yorkshire South Logo and the nearest ball won.”
SIV and Yorkshire South Tourism’s stand featured a giant Jenga game, plus the chance to win a host of prizes such as tickets to the City Hall’s biggest acts including Ray Davies and Jools Holland later in the year.
