A team of brave volunteers were pushed into the limelight after taking to the diving boards at one of Sheffield’s top leisure venues to test Gok Wan’s latest fashions!
The group of men tried out different styles of swimwear by jumping from the famous boards at Ponds Forge International Sports Centre.
Part of the new series of Gok’s Fashion Fix, the segment will see his ‘Fashion Friends’ modelling swimwear to suit all shapes and sizes before rating them on a scale of one to ten based on style and practicality.
Gok’s Fashion Fix sees the TV star travel the length and breadth of the UK solving people’s fashion dilemmas, rejuvenating their style and proving that they don’t have to spend a fortune to have an up to date wardrobe.
Helen Broadbent, general manager at Sheffield International Venues (SIV) managed Ponds Forge, said: “We were delighted to welcome the Fashion Fix team to Ponds Forge, where they were able to make the most of the world class diving facilities we have to offer. The volunteers were very brave and did a fantastic job modelling and testing the swimwear.”
Gok’s Fashion Fix is the latest in a series of TV appearances for SIV. Ponds Forge’s was profiled by the BBC for a Sport Relief special of We are the Champions and the 2009 Sports Personality of the Year event was hosted by SIV at the Sheffield Arena and iceSheffield.
Ponds Forge also received glowing endorsement from TV stars Justin Lee-Collins and James Corden on the popular Channel 5 programme the Good Times.
Helen added: “It will be fantastic once again to see Ponds take centre stage on national television, showcasing how our venues provide excellent locations for a variety of filming needs.”
The episode (season 3, episode 2) of Gok’s Fashion Fix was aired back in May on Channel 4 and available to view on 4 on Demand for a limited time.
Not the First Time
Gok isn't the first to flaunt his fashions at Ponds Forge, GQ Magazine held a fashion shoot at the pool back in the early 90s:
