Sheffield International Venues' demonstrated their capabilities with a double venue event on 24 June. Sporting legend, Darren Gough is a patron at Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity and attracted 200 sporting fans to take part in a golf day at Beauchief course and a banquet at Sheffield City Hall to support the charity.
Beauchief's beautiful scenery was enhanced by the idyllic weather and many guests commented on the outstanding condition of the course. Players enjoyed bacon sandwiches and coffee at lunchtime, provided by the catering team at the course.
The evening's proceedings at City Hall started with a drinks reception in the Archers Bar before entering the ballroom to enjoy a four course feast.
Darren Gough in particular, was impressed by the quality of the food as he presented City Hall's head chef, Mark Mortimer with a signed cricket ball.
Andy Carnall, Golf Manager at SIV and one of the sponsors of the event, agreed that the food was 'amazing' and gave special thanks to the Chef and his team.
The Verdict
Weston Park's Charity director Rachel Thorpe said: "SIV hosted such a wonderful afternoon of golf at Beauchief and fabulous night of food and entertainment at the City Hall."
Andy Carnall concluded: "It is the first time that we have had the opportunity to combine our Golf brand with the City Hall for an event of this nature so it was fantastic to be able to launch this new concept with such a high profile occasion.
"Both the golf and dinner elements were a massive success and we are looking to develop more events of this kind. The course was in superb condition and, combined with the top quality facilities at the City Hall, is something unique to Sheffield. At SIV, our offer is about strength in numbers and this demonstrates that we can literally accommodate any request.
"Our portfolio includes some of the best venues in the region, if not the country and we understand the need for flexibility to deliver unique conferences and events and tailor made packages to suit individual requirements."
